TOTI OUR FRIEND
The great electronic poet Gianni Toti died on the 8th of January 2007. His voice, his glance, his images, his rage, his laugh, his mischievousness, are resisting to the time going. But he is missing so much to the ones who loved him. His wife, Pia Abelli, and some other friends of the poet, opened in Rome the Casa Totiana, in order to keep his memory alive : http://www.lacasatotiana.it/ In 2009, we screened some of his vidéopoèmes in Ramallah (Palestine) in May, in Nha Trang (Vietnam) in June and in Alexandria (Egypt) in December. At a time when in France ((July 2009, Montreuil), the police does not hesitate to use a flash-ball, putting out a filmmaker's eye, there is a matter of urgency to gather together our fierce strengths and to poetise as much as possible our desires of freedom. Nicole Brenez and Nathalie Hubert asked some artists to realise a short film in order to win recognition for human dignity : http://www.mediapart.fr/content/flashball-et-rafale-dimages Gianni Toti would have loved this initiative. Poetry is a weapon loaded with the future. We would like to thanks you for being with us last year, here and there, audience, artists, partners, lovers, fighters, gardeners, dreamers, irresistible laughers... We wish you a happy new year, full of tenderness and passion.
